Call for Applications for the 4th Window of Discretionary Grants Applications for 2023-2024: Centres of Specialisation (CoS) Project

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) for the mining and minerals sector in terms of the Skills Development Act of 1998.

The fourth application window for Discretionary Grants allocations, for the period 01 April 2023 to 31 March 2024 will open on Monday, 04 December 2023 at 08H00.

This window is open solely for Centres of Specialization (CoS) Programme. Only CoS Host Employers in the Mining and Mineral sector and DHET approved TVET Colleges are invited to submit applications for the Artisan Development Project.

Application Form and Funding Policy

Specific project information can be accessed via the hyperlinks on the forms.

Completed application forms must be submitted via e-mail ONLY to grants@mqa.org.za.

Hand delivered application forms including those sent to other email addresses will not be accepted.

Closing Date

Completed application forms must be submitted before 00:00 on Sunday 24 December 2023.

Please Note 

  • Terms and conditions will apply in accordance with the MQA Funding Policy and Allocation Criteria.
  • Application form and criteria will only be available on the MQA website.
  • MQA may call for application for projects, but it is at MQA discretion to allocate the grants on these
  • The application form must be completed in full. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the application form submitted is correct and completed in full.
