Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

To facilitate the opening of workplace based learning opportunities and access to occupationally directed programmes for learners with prior work experience.

To recognise prior skills and competencies attained at the work place.

Registration Process

Employers (through their MQA Accredited Skills Development Providers) are responsible for registering learners on the MQA Learner Management Information System (I Share System).

Who can access RPL Learnerships?

Employees of Mining Companies.

Registration Process

Employers (through their MQA Accredited Skills Development Providers) are responsible for registering learners on the MQA Learner Management Information System (I Share System).

Documentation required to register and complete an RPL Learner by employers

Learning Programme Agreements and supporting documents such as certified ID copy, Training Plan, Proof of Disability for disabled learners, Learners highest qualification (except for qualifications with open access), Employment Contracts and Confirmation of Employment. Upon Completion of the RPL Learnership, the Learner will obtain a Certificate issued by the Quality Assurance Unit at the MQA
