PROJECT: SMALL SCALE MINING SUPPORT

The project aims to facilitate and support the training of Small Scale Miners through a recognised skills programme registered with MQA. Grants will be allocated to employers/ organisations who meet the MQA Grant Allocation requirements.The training provider must be duly accredited/approved for the learning programmes to be implemented. All proposals submitted to the MQA must indicate an alignment to employment or business opportunities which post training which the training beneficiaries will be assisted with. A maximum grant amount of R15 000 is paid per learner, which is inclusive of R1 500 monthly stipend paid to each learner. Beneficiaries living in Mine communities and labour sending areas, including employees facing retrenchments or employees already retrenched/laid-off are targeted as beneficiaries in this project.
