The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) that facilitates skills development under the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) and supports mine health and safety under the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) for the mining and minerals sector under Skills Development Act (SDA) 97 of 1998 and Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) 29 of 1996, respectively.
The MQA would like to invite qualifying individuals to apply for an internship opportunity within its Learning Programmes Unit. Unemployed individuals who have never participated in an Internship Programme are invited to apply. The successful intern will be appointed for a period of twenty-four (24) months. This opportunity is available to South African Citizens only.
Reporting to the Senior Manager: Learning Programmes; the successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in and provide input into the following areas.
The successful incumbent will be exposed to the following Key performance Areas within the Learning Programmes, Strategic Projects Unit:
- General Administration;
- Register learning programmes agreements for all projects;
- Customer service to internal and external stakeholders in accordance with MQA’s customer service standards;
- Events Planning;
- Stakeholder Engagements;
- Travel arrangement for the Learning Programmes Unit;
- Document control;
- Perform any other tasks delegated by the Learning Programmes Manager.
Minimum requirements:
- A grade 12 or Matric certificate.
- National Diploma in Human Resource Development, Business Management. Business Administration/ Public Management or Project Management at NQF level6.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent (NQF Level 7 qualification in the above-mentioned fields will be an added advantage.
Competency:
- Good communication and sound interpersonal skills;
- An understanding of skills development legislation in respect of education and training;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- A proactive attitude ;
- Customer orientated;
- Attention to details;
- Proficiency in MS Office packages.
