The Mining Qualifications Authority is inviting all its stakeholders to attend the 2024 Stakeholder Engagement Forums during the month of November 2024 in all provinces.
The events will be hosted under the theme, “Strengthening partnership for impactful skills to enable sustainable future in mining”.
The primary objectives of the 2024 Stakeholder Engagement Forums are:
- Reiterate key messages shared at the annual general meeting (AGM) hosted on 01 November 2024, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned with the MQA’s strategic priorities.
- Engage stakeholders to gather input on the MQA’s performance, initiatives, and areas for improvement, which will contribute to shaping the MQA’s future plans.
- Provide updates on critical areas such as discretionary grants, funding policies, programme performance, and new initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including employers, labour unions, mining communities, traditional leaders, and training providers.
- Identify challenges faced by stakeholders in their interactions with MQA and develop strategies to enhance service delivery.
The messaging will comprise, amongst other core MQA offerings:
- Discretionary Grants Open Application Window
- Changes to the Funding Policy for 2025/2026
- Preparation and compiling information for the WSP and ATR Submissions for 2025/2026
- Implementation of the Gazette on the Ministerial Directive for pre-2009 qualifications (updates, if any)
- The MQA’s new Corporate Identity
- The 2025/2026 Financial Year Annual Performance Plan and Budget
