Call for Applications for MQA Discretionary Grants (2026 – 2027 Financial Year)

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) for the mining and minerals sector in terms of the Skills Development Act No 97 of 1998.

The second application window for Discretionary Grant allocations, for the period 01 April 2026 to 31 March 2027, will open on Monday, 27 July 2026 at 08H00.

SMMEs, Cooperatives, NGOs, CBOs and NPOs are invited to submit their applications for the following project:

• NPOs, NBOs, CBOs, Small Business and Cooperatives Support Programme

Please note:

• Terms and conditions will apply in accordance with the MQA Funding Policy.
• Applications must be submitted via the Discretionary Grants online application system only. Applications sent to other sources or emails will not be considered.
• MQA may call for applications for projects, but it is at MQA discretion to allocate the grants on these
• Applicants who applied during the first window of this programme are encouraged not to apply again. Their applications remain valid and will be considered as part of the current evaluation process.

Applications must be submitted before 23:59 on Friday, 21 August 2026.
