Call for Applications for MQA Discretionary Grants (2024 – 2025) – Second Window

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) for the mining and minerals sector in terms of the Skills Development Act of 1998.

The 2nd application window for Discretionary Grants allocations, for the period 01 April 2024 to 31 March 2025, will open on 19 May 2024 at 08H00.

Employers and other stakeholders in the sector are invited to submit their applications for the below projects.

Application forms, MQA Funding Policy and Grants Rules:

1. MQA Funding Policy and Allocation Criteria

2. Short Courses Provided by Public Institutions

3. Elementary Digital Skills, Amended Senior Certificate (Adult Matric), In-house/Industry/Company Based Short Courses

4. Learning Materials Development (NB: both the application forms and the annexure must be submitted)

5. Standards Setting

NOTE: Specific project information can be accessed via the hyperlinks on the forms.

Closing date: Completed application forms must be submitted before 00:00 on 05 June 2024.

Completed application forms must be submitted via e-mail ONLY to grants@mqa.org.za.

Hand-delivered application forms including those sent to other e-mail addresses will not be considered.

Please note:

  • Terms and conditions will apply in accordance with the MQA Funding Policy and Allocation Criteria.
  • The MQA may call for application for projects, but it is at the MQA’s discretion to allocate the grants on these
  • The application form must be completed in full.
