“Envisioning Mining Skills Beyond 2030” 

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) will be hosting the 2023 Mining Skills Lekgotla event on 23 and 24 November 2023 in Gauteng.

The MQA would like to invite the submission of abstracts under the theme ‘Research interventions within the sector’, for the event which will hosted both in-person and virtually. 

The papers may engage with the following topics, but are not limited to them:

  1. The role of 4IR in fostering skills development in the mining and minerals sector (MMS)
  2. 4IR: current and future skills
  3. Trends in sectoral skills planning in relation to just energy transition, hydrogen, and beneficiation in the MMS
  4. The impact of the MQA’s interventions in the MMS
  5. Entrepreneurship skills amongst small-scale miners

Submission

Abstracts of between 250 -300 words should be submitted to abstracts2023@mqa.org.za.

Authors should provide the paper title, the author affiliation, contact details, pronouns, etc.

Please name your submission document as ‘Surname_Name_Title’.

Closing date for submission: 03 November 2023.
