REMINDER REGARDING THE CLOSURE OF THE MQA 2022/2023 FINANCIAL YEAR

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) would like to remind all stakeholders that are implementing MQA learning programmes that the MQA’s 2022/2023 financial year closes on 31 March 2023. Stakeholders are to ensure that they capture all agreements, assessments and submit all required documents by 31 March for all funded learners on various learning programmes.

Furthermore, the MQA would like to remind stakeholders of the requirement that information should be reported in the year of occurrence. This therefore means that the learners that commenced training in the current financial year should be registered with the MQA in the current financial year.

Similarly, the learners that complete training in the current financial year must have their assessments captured and uploaded on the MQA’s Management Information system (MIS) by 31 March 2023. Failure to do so will result in employers forfeiting the allocated grants.

The MQA is aware of  challenges with the implementation of the new MIS system (SIMS) and the organisation is committed to ensure that these challenges are resolved.

The MQA is working with the MIS service provider to ensure that all matters are addressed urgently. We urge all stakeholders to escalate their MIS related challenges with the relevant MQA Project Leaders to ensure they receive urgent attention and resolution.
