The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) for the mining and minerals sector in terms of the Skills Development No. Act 97 of 1998.
The 6th application window for discretionary grants applications for the period 01 April 2024 to 31 March 2025, will open on Saturday, 22 February 2025.
This window is exclusively for mining companies applying for the Candidacy Programme and only applicable to learners who enter training in the period 01 April 2024 and 31 March 2025.
Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis and will remain open until 31 March 2025 or until the allocated target is met—whichever comes first.
Companies are encouraged to submit their applications promptly to secure funding for their learners.
All applications must comply with the MQA Funding Policy and Allocation Criteria.
Application forms and grants rules:
Completed application forms must be submitted via e-mail ONLY to grants@mqa.org.za. Hand delivered application forms including those sent to other email addresses will not be considered.
Please note:
- Terms and conditions will apply in accordance with the MQA Funding Policy and Allocation Criteria.
- It is at the MQA discretion to allocate the grants.
- The application form must be completed in full.
