Vacancy: Quality Assurance Administrator (Temp)

Fixed-term Contract until 20 January 2020

Total monthly salary: R19, 171.55 

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) for the mining and minerals sector in terms of the Skills Development Act of 1998. The MQA seeks to fill the above vacancy within the organisation on a temporary basis.

The successful individual will report to the Quality Assurance Specialist.

Job description

The responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Provide administrative support for the QA Audits and related functions.
  • Verify and Allocate Serial numbers for learners who met the requirements to access a trade test.
  • Receive and prepare learners Portfolio of Evidence (PoEs) to be submitted to National Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB) for certification.
  • Make submission and collection of any documentation to the National Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB) or the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO)
  • Capture the certificates received from the National Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB) thereafter distribute to the Trade Test Centres.
  • Provide feedback to the Trade Test Centres on applications returned or rejected from the National Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB).
  • Provide administrative support for the quarterly Quality Assurance’s (QA) Accredited Skills Development Providers, Accredited Trade Test Centres and Capacity building workshops.
  • Record keeping for continuously reporting as specified.

Minimum requirements

  • A Senior Certificate as well as a National Diploma in Administration, Human Resource Development (HRD) Practices or Business Administration;
  • Three years’ administrative experience  preferably in an education, training and development field; 
  • A valid driver’s license (optional);
  • Knowledge of a quality management system, preferably ISO 9001:2008, is essential;
  • Knowledge of the mining and minerals sector will be an advantage; and
  • Knowledge of the Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) environment will be an added advantage.
