Vacancy: Quality Assurance Administrator

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) for the mining and minerals sector in terms of the Skills Development Act of 1998. The MQA seeks to fill the above vacancy which currently exists within the organisation.

The successful individual will report to the Quality Assurance Specialist.

Job description

The responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Administer, support and arrange accreditation, sending audit notification letters, scope extension, programme approval and monitoring processes of training providers;
  • Provide administrative support in updating the accredited training provider (ATP) list, posted on the MQA website;
  • Provide administrative support in ensuring that payments are processed in terms of applicable policies and procedures;
  • Provide administrative support for the quarterly Quality Assurance’s (QA) Accredited Skills Development Providers and Capacity building workshops;
  • Ensure preparation and arrangements for the Quality Assurance Committee as per the approved calendar plan;
  • Source audit teams and arrange audit logistics (make travel and accommodation bookings for the audit team);
  • Acknowledge receipt of Portfolios of Evidence including all related communiqués within the Quality Assurance Unit;
  • File documentation according to the ISO 9001 standard; and
  • Provide administrative support for the implementation and maintenance of the QA’s accreditation status as an Assessment Quality Partner (AQP) / Development Quality Partner (DQP), as accredited by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO).

Minimum requirements

  • Diploma in Administration, Human Resource Development (HRD) Practices or Business Administration;
  • Three years’ administrative experience  preferably in an education, training and development field; 
  • A valid driver’s license (optional);
  • Knowledge of a quality management system, preferably ISO 9001:2008, is essential;
  • Knowledge of the mining and minerals sector will be an advantage; and
  • Knowledge of the Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) environment will be an added advantage.
